About Willow Pediatric Wellness
How Membership Works
01
Transparent Monthly Membership
Our direct care model replaces co-pays and surprise bills with a consistent monthly fee. You are able to focus on your child’s care instead of dealing with insurance or worrying about unexpected costs.
02
Relationship-Based Care
Your membership includes routine check-ups, chronic condition management, and unlimited sick visits. There is time to ask questions and make thoughtful, informed decisions. You are supported, not rushed.
03
Newborn In-Home Visits
For the first 12 weeks of life, members receive in-home visits.* Caring for your newborn at home allows for careful medical assessment and practical support, including feeding, recovery, and day-to-day life with a newborn.
04
Direct Access to Your Pediatrician
Members have direct access to Dr. Laura. When questions or concerns arise, you don’t wait for an appointment or navigate layers of scheduling. You receive clear guidance and a plan.
05
Insurance for Larger Services
Insurance is used for immunizations, certain tests, and services outside the practice when needed. This allows your everyday care to remain simple while maintaining coverage for more significant services.
Willow is designed for families who want a pediatrician in their corner.
A Meet & Greet with Dr. Laura is required before enrollment. Complimentary prenatal consultations are available.
*In-home visits are offered within a 15-minute driving radius.
About Dr. Laura
Laura Crocker Mitchell, MD, FAAP
I built Willow Pediatric Wellness because I wanted to practice medicine with the time and attention families deserve.
I grew up in Dothan and now call Birmingham home. I graduated from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and attended UAB for medical school. After completing my residency at Children’s of Alabama, I worked in the pediatric emergency department there. That experience shaped how I think about urgency, reassurance, and careful decision-making.
During my time in the ER, I realized that pediatric care requires space to ask better questions, to look closely, and to see the full picture. Willow was created to provide that kind of care.
I’m both a pediatrician and a mom, and each shapes how I show up for families. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to make decisions in today’s world. My role is to provide steady guidance and clear answers so you don’t have to make those decisions alone.
Outside the clinic, I’m with my two boys, usually at the library, the Birmingham Zoo, or playing in our backyard. We love to travel as a family, especially to the beach and Disney World. I also serve on Smile-A-Mile’s Junior Board and Medical Advisory Team.
